Accumulation Units

Units of value, substituting for dollars, that make up the worth of a variable annuity. Accumulation units are credits, and they are determined by the amount of a premium payment and the market value of the accumulation unit. For example, if the current market value of a unit is $8 and a client paid a premium of $40, he is credited with five accumulation units.
