Bequest

A gift of personal property through a will. In the language of wills, items are bequeathed to their recipients. Bequests may be specific or general. Specific bequests are gifts of specific items, such as automobiles or pieces of jewelry. General bequests are gifts that are paid from the estate’s general assets and do not have particular origins.
