Chapter 11

A commonly used part of the Federal Bankruptcy Act. Chapter 11 sets out the rules that allow a bankrupt company to continue operating. Under its provisions, the business carries on its operations, but under court-supervised arrangements that allow its creditors to reclaim their debts.
