An IRS information form used to report any of several forms of income payments made to taxpayers. Examples include the 1099-MISC (for miscellaneous income), the 1099-DIV (for dividends from investments), the 1099-INT (for interest), the 1099-B (for sales of securities), and the 1099-R (for retirement plan distributions).
